Calibre de Cartier

The Cartier Calibre de Cartier was introduced in 2010 as the brand's definitive statement of contemporary men's sports watchmaking, anchored by an in-house automatic movement and a round case of bold proportions. The Calibre was Cartier's answer to the market's demand for a credible mechanical sports watch that could compete with round-case offerings from Geneva and Swiss German manufacturers, featuring a 42 mm steel case, guilloché dial, Roman numerals, and an integrated crown guard that protected the winding crown during active wear. Powered by the caliber 1904-PS MC automatic with 48-hour power reserve, the Calibre was also produced with diver specifications — rated to 300 meters in the Calibre Diver configuration — as well as chronograph and tourbillon variants that demonstrated the depth of Cartier's Manufacture capabilities. Pre-owned Calibre de Cartier references in steel are widely available on the secondary market, representing one of the most practical ways to acquire a Manufacture-movement Cartier at a pre-owned price. The model was discontinued in 2019 and partially succeeded by the Santos, making pre-owned examples the primary channel for buyers interested in the Calibre's particular character. DeMesy & Co. in Dallas has authenticated pre-owned Calibre de Cartier references since 1987.
