Concord

Concord is a Swiss watch brand with an identity closely tied to the bold design language of the 1970s integrated-bracelet sports watch era. Founded in Biel/Bienne in 1908 and later operating under the control of the Cortébert group and subsequently the Movado Group, Concord achieved significant commercial success in the American market during the 1970s and 1980s with bold, architecturally integrated designs. The Delirium, introduced in 1979, was for a time recognized as the thinnest watch in the world — measuring just 0.98 mm in movement height — a technical achievement that attracted international attention and established Concord as a manufacturer willing to pursue horological extremes. The Mariner and Saratoga collections were the brand's most commercially significant American market references, with integrated steel cases and bracelets that wore with considerable presence. Pre-owned Concord watches in steel and two-tone gold from the 1980s and 1990s are period pieces of considerable charm, reflecting a moment in luxury watch design when American tastes significantly influenced Swiss production. Current production is more limited than its peak years, making pre-owned examples the primary path to the Concord aesthetic. DeMesy & Co. in Dallas has been a source for pre-owned Concord watches since 1987.
