Submariner

The Rolex Submariner is the archetypal dive watch, the reference against which virtually every other water-resistant sport watch is measured. Introduced at the Basel Fair in 1953, the Submariner was rated to 100 meters at launch and has since been upgraded to a 300-meter rating, housing ever more refined movements within its iconic Oyster case and unidirectional rotating bezel. The Submariner's design has been refined rather than reinvented over seventy years, with the core proportions — 40 mm case, pencil hands, luminous rectangular hour markers — remaining largely intact through generations of beloved references. Pre-owned collectors prize the no-date ref. 5512, 5513, and 14060, as well as date-equipped variants including the 16800, 16610, and the ceramic-bezel 114060 and 116610LN. The Submariner Date and no-date models occupy different niches in the market, both commanding strong secondary values. Each generation of pre-owned Submariner tells a chapter of Rolex's engineering history. DeMesy & Co. in Dallas has been a trusted source for pre-owned Rolex Submariner watches since 1987, authenticating every reference with the rigor the market demands.
